I was pleasantly surprised. I had to get a larger shoe and it was no problem. Great shoe for someone who has to have a larger size. I'm sold on New Balance W498. It is comfortable IF you don't need much lower cushioning. My feet would slip up on the heel every time I took a step. They are obviously made too wide in the heel section. The toe box is generous, the arch is moderate and it doesn't look bad on but if you have a normal OR narrow heel this is not the shoe for you. It also states these are waterproof but I find that hard to believe. I only wore them around the carpet and knew within a few minutes these would not be my new summer shoes. Oh well, back they go and I continue to look on Zappos for those much needed shoes with a low arch, wide toe box and lots of cushion in the sole...
