I liked the cushioning and the stability bar, which helps keep my balance. I would definitely buy these shoes again. I have bilateral bunions and a non-union fracture and these are my life savers. There are very few shoes available in the 4E that are best for me. I can put my orthotics in them and have plenty room. I also have weak ankles and these help greatly for that as well. I thought these shoes fit perfectly when I first tried them on. However, after taking my first walk in them, I developed a heel blister. Used band-aids for several more walks. It took about 3 hours of walking to break them in, but now they feel fine. They are kind of clunky looking, but most shoes of this type are. Size 9 appeared to be too small particularly across the toe box stitching. 9 1/2 appeared to be too large. The grey color matches with just about everything in my closet. They fit really well and because they are a wedge heel, which I normally don't like, they are comfortable enough to wear all day. I get tons of compliments on them. They look even better when they come out of the box. There is enough room in the calf that they slouch just a little bit, but enough to tuck jeans into. I ordered these shoes in desperation because of New Balance's reputation - and more specifically, the roll bar that addressed exactly my problem. I ordered them on Saturday morning, received them by Monday afternoon when I needed them for an active job with young children - and have worn them, daily ever since - without any "break in" period necessary at all.
