My shoes weren't offering me much support, something I needed more of after transitioning out of crutches. My physical therapist recommended this shoe. It is excellent for support, ease of wear, and comfort. As a teacher, I am on my feet a lot. These shoes help keep me that way. I highly recommend this shoe to anyone seeking more support to their stance and step. The only thing I don't completely love about this shoe is the look of the velcro straps. The tips extend past the velcro backing when strapped. This is minor, but it takes away from the otherwise faux-professional look of the shoe. The service from Zappos was tremendous. I ordered the shoes and received them the next day without paying for overnight shipping. Apparently they were running a special or something. Look:I purchased the NB 926 a few weeks ago. They are high quality sneakers and are very comfortable. Absolute perfect fit right out of the box. I walk the streets of NYC all the time and need a good shoe, so I can do the all day tours I take my friends on when they visit... plus I am on my feet all day at work. The New Balance 926 is sturdier and with velcro is comfortable keeping out the sand better than a tie shoe. I first tried my usual D width size in a store, it was too tight. They didn't have a wider one, so I ordered from Zappos. Unbelievably the shoes were at my door the next morning. The wider width was a little too wide so the velcro straps hang out the side when secured for better fit. I ordered from Zappos because they sent my wife's shoes the next morning also (when your feet hurt that is very important). She ordered the wrong size and before she could return them, another pair was at the door (you guessed it, the next morning). The raised toe reduces tripping to a minimum. The removable insole allows the prescription arch supports and liners to fit without making the shoe feel too small. My only negatives are that (1) - It is not necessarily the best looking shoe; (2) - I do not know why, but the shoe was made where there is not enough Velcro material on the shoe, itself, for the ends of the two Velcro straps to fasten down to the shoe, itself, leaving 3 1/2 to 4 inches just sticking out.
