The inner soles were cut wrong and I had to replace them. The leather or whatever the white material on this shoe is cracking and chipping off after only 2 months. The shoes also have wrinkles on the leather, I know this can happen after a while, but these shoes are lemons. The left shoe is breaking down inside the heel part. I have heard that Etonic makes great shoes and the last pair I had were. It was too late to return them once they started falling apart. I would buy another pair of Etonic but not this model. I've been using this model for 7 years now, though 3 marathons (and training) and a half dozen half marathons. I've tried other shoes and always had some problem or another. As a heavyweight runner, I've found them to be up to the punishment of long training runs and races - I hope this latest incarnation of the Stable Pro III will be no exception. Other brands which advertise a stability shoe feel like as if the shoe is built upon the platform of a brick. I'm happy to say this is not the case with this shoe. The shoe holds, and supports your entire foot during its full range of motion. The soles, which appear to be bulky, are not. Cushioning is very good, and I had the shoe broken in, in about a 1/2 day. The only reason for the break in period was the fact that the shoe that was shipped to me was full leather, not having the meshed front as appears in the photo. The shoe breathes well for a full leather shoe; however, it may be warm during the hot weather. Arch support is actually there. I have never owned a pair of Etonics, and I am pleasantly surprised. Believe me, I have bought, returned, and thrown away to many pairs of New Balance, Asics, Adidas, and Brooks, for not living up to their advertised expectations. I'm a big guy, (size 11 1/2 4E) and I demand a lot from my shoes. Etonics seem to be the real deal. Zappos has been terrific while I search for the perfect shoe for my needs. Without their outstanding customer service, and return policy, I would have looked elsewhere a long time ago. Oh, I forgot, as I do not wear orthotics, I do not know if this shoe will accommodate them. But unlike other brands, I did not have to purchase aftermarket insoles to make the shoe comfortable, which was a first for me. They have a guy who specializes in shoes and people's gate. He looked at me walk down a hall and pronounced that I was a pronator (gasp!). He fitted me for a pair of Etonic Stable Pro III's and my soreness on the outside of my feet and knees went away almost immediately. Much more comfortable than the more expensive shoes I was wearing. I cardio for over an hour 5 x a week and have not had a single problem with knees, legs, ankles or feet since switching to these shoes. Look:Very Fast Delivery - My next pair of shoes will definitely be purchased from Zappos. And this is coming from someone whose two sons work at a local running shoe store. The store does not carry the Etonic Stable Pro III and I could try another shoe but I have worn the PRO III's for years but have trouble finding them. Previously, I had ordered from another online store prior to a marathon that I was running in a few weeks from then. I figured I would get them in time to break them in. Well, you guessed it, the shoes did not arrive until 2 weeks after the marathon. I had to purchase a pair at the expo the day before the marathon. I ordered the shoes from Zappos on Monday and received them on Wednesday. Unbelievably FAST!! Thanks for having the shoes I wanted, at a great price with free shipping and very fast delivery. However, it is not the quality of shoe that Stability System Stable Pro ER1036 is/was. The Stability System Stable Pro ER1036 is the best shoe for walking that I have ever owned. Please let me know when this shoe goes back into production. You may want to do a survey, if you haven't already, of this specific shoe to find out if it is worth placing back into production. I can't count the pairs I've used up in training and in distance races, but for an over-pronator this is the ideal shoe. I tried others, but this is it for me.
