Look:Fuzzy bunnies - I bought these because they have the little roll cuff in the back so that they don't slip into the shoe as you walk. Also, they're touted to be really cushy and keep your feet dry. I don't run, but I walk a lot. Blisters are often the result. While I haven't put them to the test on any 5 mile treks (the weather hasn't been warm enough for anklets), I have found that when I have worn them they are comfy, keep my feet dry and don't slip down. I imagine no blisters will happen in the future. When I'm home, I wear them as comfortable slipper/socks, too! They are thicker, so if you don't have a lot of room in your sneaker, this could be an issue. Look:Can't Beat Thorlo Socks - I've been wearing nothing but Thorlo Running Rolltop Socks for the past 20 years, or so. A couple times I have not been able to find them and purchased what appeared to be a similar sock of another brand. Nothing comes close in quality to Thorlos. They are more expensive, but they last considerably longer -- which makes them a better value.
