I wear size 11 narrow and have no arch whatsoever. My foot is flat as a pancake. These are the best, most comfortable, supportive shoes I've ever worn. I wear this shoe from the time I get up until I go to bed at night plus I walk 1-3 miles a day and this shoe keeps my feet happy and pain free. I've worn New Balance for years and years but this is the absolute best for my long, narrow, flat feet. It has a deep toe box, so no pinching at all. I have a high arch, and these are comfortable on the tops of my feet. I could immediately walk distances in this shoe. They arrived in less than 24 hours after my order was placed, I was very surprised and pleased about that. I like the look of the shoe and it is very lightweight. My only concern is that I should have ordered it a half size larger as it is a little snug in the toe unless I wear fairly thin socks. This, however, was my mistake. I walk 4-4 1/2 miles several times a week and the overall comfort is good. I ordered a narrow and it wasn't as narrow as I had hoped for. Also, the leather has broken in two places where the shoe strings are laced. I only wore these for walking around town since I workout in other shoes. I would have returned them if I had known that the quality was so bad. I wore Rykas for years, but after reading the reviews for this shoe, I thought I would give them a try. Will go back to buying Rykas as I was disappointed in the lack of cushioning on the sole especially the heel of this shoe. The shoe does have a wide toe box and allows for all my toes to lay flat (like they are suppose to) and the shoes are lightweight - due to the lack of more rubber material on the bottom. If you are heavy heel to toe walker or have foot problems, I would not recommend this particular shoe. I've worn the predecessors to this model for years (the 652 and more recently the 658) and I always wore a 7.5 D in those models, but in the 659, my "real" size 7 D fits perfectly, even with my custom orthotics. This is a great shoe for anyone who needs extra support in a lightweight, great looking walking shoe. I have plantar fasciitis and these shoes really help support my feet. I need a lot of room in the toes because of an injury, and I find these to be fairly wide. I wear a D width in some of the mesh-type New Balance (743, 742), but wear a B in these. The arch support is good and they seem to be made of the same materials as the 658's which proved to be very durable shoes. They do run a bit longer than the 658's but I didn't find this to be a problem; I think the 658's ran a little short. Also, the price is reasonable compared to a lot of walking shoes. I tried both this style and the NB WW1122. They fit similarly but this is a much better looking shoe, in my opinion, as well as less expensive. I bought a half-size larger than normal and the D width (I need wide width in the toes). Lots of room in the toe box and instep, and my orthotics fit in these while allowing plenty of room in the heel. This shoe uses the SL-2 last, which is intended for narrow heel, wide forefoot (width across knuckles of toes). It took a few days to break in and after a long walk will still bother my feet. It has plenty of sole but the arch support is too high on the outside of my foot to be comfortable. A bit too big - I ordered this as the recommended replacement for the model 658 I found that the shoe is almost a half a size larger than marked. When I first tried the shoe (with orthotics) in the house the fit seemed ok. However, when I wore this shoe to my workout class my foot and orthotics slid around inside the shoe. I have tried stuffing a filler into the toe of the shoe but usually end up with my arch not in the correct place.
