You get what you pay for; it's superior to Asics sneakers selling for half the price. I am a runner and nothing fits as well as the Asics brand. I need the Gel style, otherwise my knees hurt with any other brand. Also, this has to be the best-looking Asics sneaker. The rich blue color makes the sneaker appear more compact, sleek and not bulky like most high performance shoes. I found Asics run about a half size larger than most brands so while I usually wear a men's 10.5 shoe. I got these in size 10 and it is perfect. The sneaker is marketed for Tennis, but I'm using it for everyday casual wear and eventually for running in good weather so as not to mess them up and muddy them. They feel like a glove on my foot and cushion beautifully just like all their running shoes. I run around the court a lot. I used to play in cross trainers and running shoes so that I had lots of mobility. These give me the mobility and cushioning of a cross trainer or running shoe with the durability and firmness of a tennis shoe. These are exactly what I was hoping for in a tennis shoe. I tried some Nike Air Cage II's and had to return them because of a lack of arch support. These Asics beat the Nikes in every category... not just arch support :). Give these a try, you won't be disappointed. The whole front (blue part) is actually like rubber and the white (in the front) is actually kind of screen-like for venting. They look great and provide good stability in lateral movements but ate extremely narrow. So mine are already starting to bulge out on the sides after only a few wearings. I prefer to order shoes in EE but most of the time a standard width shoe will work out O.K.
