My old New Balance shoes finally wore out (6 years of heavy wear later) and the WW844 is the new version. I loved those shoes, and I love these! A supremely comfortable walking shoe that you can wear and wear and wear. I would highly recommend these shoes to anyone who does a serious amount of walking. The colors and materials are the same, but the overall look is much less attractive and most important to me, there is practically no arch support! I did not feel the 844 had as much arch support as the 843's, so I have to wear an insert with these. The New Balance WW844 is one of the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn. I wear an 11 Wide. It is difficult to even find a good pair of walking shoes in my size, let alone one that is really comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis and have problems with one of my favorite forms of exercise-walking. When I wear these shoes with my inserts, I don't feel any pain when I walk. I recommend these shoes for anyone with a foot problem like mine. It doesn't feel uncomfortable; however, there doesn't seem to be much toe room. Next time I think I will order a half size larger. It's wonderful to be able to have that option. On top of everything else, Zappos upgraded my shipping choice just to say thank you. So, I received my shoes quicker than expected. Her doctor had diagnosed her with arthritis in her knee, but after switching to these shoes, her knee pain was totally gone. The same happened to me. I have since recommended them to other walkers with various structural pain and they have had the same results. The roller bar technology is amazing! I would not even consider wearing anything else. They run a bit small so try a half size larger.
