I bought a pair of New Balance mules a few years ago and loved them and each year I would buy a new pair. This year I tried everywhere to buy them and could NOT find them anywhere. I tried the New Balance website and they didn't have them. My friend told me about Zappos and so I gave it a shot. I was so happy to see the New Balance mules on Zappos. My new favorite shoe now also my new favorite place to buy them - Zappos. The shipping could not have been quicker either. I ordered them on a Saturday and they arrived on Monday! I am so smitten with Zappos! I followed the general advice to order a larger size. I usually wear a 7W, but ordered a 7.5W. They fit but are not very wide at all. If I had ordered my usual size, I would have had to send them back. Overall, I find them comfortable, but think they look a little odd because the front of the shoe sticks up quite a lot. I received these right before going to New Orleans in July and these were perfect for extensive walking around the city in hot weather, and GREAT in the airport security screening process. I was wary of slide staying on heel but they do, and the overall fit is VERY comfortable. I have bunions so love sneakers and these look great and don't scream "I'm wearing sneakers!" New Balance runs half size small and these do too so order size accordingly. I wore these with low cut socks for sweat absorption but you could wear these without. Look:I bought a pair of 802's after ankle surgery as the incision was right under my ankle bone and all regular tennis shoes were uncomfortable. I wore them all the time and they were so comfortable. I did get a 1/2 size larger and that works fine for the swelling I had after surgery. It is now 9 months later and I have bought 3 more pairs. I walk 5 miles in them without a problem. These solved that problem in an instant. The stretchy material worked out perfectly for both of my feet because I was able to fit them over my ankle brace, and they still stayed snug on the other foot. My only complaint is that they run a little short. I'm normally a 9.5-10 and the 10s were too short, so the next half size up would be perfect. They're really cute too.
