We purchased the wide size and thank goodness we did that. The only feature of the shoe that I don't understand is that the toe box seems to taper a bit and for a child on the borderline between regular and wide width definitely must have the wide width shoe in this style. I fail to understand why ANY athletic shoe should have a tapering toe box! Otherwise, the shoe is just fine in a wide width.
