This shoe has great lateral motion and fantastic stability. Tread is nice and soft offering great traction. Foot bed is nice, the gel gives the shoe a good soft underfoot feeling without losing 'touch' with the floor. Heel might be a bit hard for those heavier on there feet, might want to consider the Asics Volleycross shoes. This is my 2nd pair of Vball shoes from Zappos, the first being an Adidas Climacool. The Asics-1120V is noticeably lighter and has better traction and shock absorption. I also put in a pair of Springbak insoles underneath the original insoles, and the combined effect is that it feels like I'm walking on air. Look:Shoe Width: Felt narrower than marked Too Narrow - I have worn Asics volleyball shoes exclusively for the past 15+ years. They have been very comfortable and always have fit me very well, until now. I have always been an 11.5 normal width. I have never had to purchase a wide shoe but these are far too narrow for me. The lady at Zappos tells me that I need to buy a wide shoe, but Asics doesn't make a wide volleyball shoe. Something just doesn't sound right, but the shoes are definitely narrower than any Asics that I have previously owned.
