Look:Shoe Size: Felt a half size smaller than marked Shoe Width: Felt narrower than marked Shoe Arch: No arch support Sub-par - One lap around the house was enough for me to see that these shoes do almost nothing to correct my moderate pronation problem. Despite all the apparent engineering built into these shoes, I could feel and see my arches caving in right away. They are also heavy, run at LEAST a half-size small, are narrow (my 4E shoes felt like a 2E at best), clunky, and pricy. I've had much better luck with Asics, which I find to fit much truer to size, as well as being quite comfy and supportive... Anyway, they may be difficult to adjust to if you are used to such a "thick" sole. The cushioning is unsurpassed but comfort is decreased due to the chunkiness of the shoe. Definitely for the heavier runner (which I am). I recommend the shoe if you've had "clunky" shoes in the past. The New Balance 587 is similar with nowhere near the chunkiness. The sole of the shoe is so wide you'll feel like you're walking around in heels for a day or 2 but the comfort, particularly when running, is incredible. Now it took me about 3 days back to back of running for an hour to get used to these shoes but once I did I noticed a significant improvement in the distance I could run and my fatigue afterwards (no longer felt like my legs were going to fall off below my knee!! back felt better too after a run.). For walking around there is no break in time at all, right out of the box these shoes feel pretty good. Only thing I wish was different was that they had a hook and loop version of this shoe instead of laces only. I have a very hard time working a 10 hour day on my feet. This shoe with doctor inserts has saved me. It's just been a couple of days and what a difference. Zappos got the order to me very quickly. When I received them I took the insole and spacer out and put my very thin orthotic in. After that there was not enough room for my foot. I don’t feel this shoe is near deep enough to be advertised as double depth orthodic ready. I am returning the shoes. Zappos is a wonderful place to purchase shoes and do business. I wish all business in the world were run as well as Zappos. Congratulations to Zappos, but not to Etonic double depth orthotic ready shoes. But I was pleased with New Balance. Well he sells podiatric shoes from $400 up... And he said "I could sell you all kinds of shoes at $400, but as long as your shoe is comfortable, you can buy several pairs of New Balance instead." I love NB but have found a new friend in Etonics, especially this one. I have an extremely high arch, so I have to loosen the laces quite a bit to get a good fit. But when I do, they fit great! Like me. Fits a true size 11, lots of toe room. Removable layer of foam under the removable insole to create even more room for your orthotic. I am a C width and left it in and had plenty of room. The ride feels very cushioned, yet supportive and the large chunk of stiffer material on the inner side does the job, while their extra cushioning materials in the heel corner and under the forefoot give it a great ride. Highly recommended. My old Asics Kojic felt stiffer and firmer. I also have the Pearl Izumi Syncro Guide and they appear to have more motion control, as they feel less cushioned or firmer but are somewhat narrower than these, but also a great motion control shoe. All are size 11 and fit true. IMHO this shoe is a court shoe not a running shoe for average size runners. Maybe if you are 6'5" and 200+ lbs they would work as a running shoe.
