It's very similar to the ASICS Gel Evolution in that regard. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with a wide foot as they are a bit snug on me - although I wear these shoes with my custom orthotics. Correct foot placement and gait cycle control is very important for flat footed overpronators. This shoe so far seems to address these important issues. From heel strike to toe off, the shoe feels very flexible yet firm, soft but not too soft. The motion control feature does its job quite well without being too "controlling."
