I have worn New Balance shoes quite often and this is the first pair that was truly disappointing. They rubbed against the outside of my ankle and are very stiff. They looked terrible. I use it for kickboxing, cardio machines, and weight training. As some other folks noted, it does have a narrower toe box than most other NB shoes. This didn't bother me since I don't have a wide foot. In fact, I like the fact that my forefoot doesn't move around so much inside the shoe. I usually LOVE New Balance shoes, but these were agony on my feet. I ordered my normal size, and there was no room at all in the toe box, so I sent them back and ordered a half size larger. Then my heel was slipping, and they felt huge. After an hour in them, my feet were in agony. I have plantar fasciitis and need arch support. It felt like there was absolutely none. Sorry, Zappos!
