I found the sole of this shoe to be extremely stiff, as well as the upper material. It is very uncomfortable across the base of my big toe. I will still buy New Balance, and definitely from Zappos, but not this particular shoe style. I placed my order on the weekend, and the shoe arrived on Monday!!!!! I was looking for a light weight mesh sneaker that would hold my orthotics and these are just perfect. Had several foot surgeries and my foot still swells after prolonged standing. The toe box has plenty of room both side to side and up and down. The mesh seems to have more give. When I first got the shoes I was thinking about returning it because I thought it looked better online than in person. But it grew on me once I tried it on for a while and asked my boyfriend's opinion. (I have been looking for the perfect red tennis shoes for a long time). Once I started running with them I was very pleased by how comfortable they were! I have to admit, I'm a huge Nike fan...mainly because I like the styles better than any other brand. However, after trying out my very FIRST pair of New Balance's I have to admit that the comfort in these surpasses all of my Nikes. I was looking for a shoe that was attractive, light-weight and very comfortable. I have had problems with foot pain if I walk 45 mins or more, so I needed a shoe that I could wear for long periods of time. This was it! It's very light weight, and I wore it for over 15 hours (traveling, and walking around a park and then a festival!) and I didn't notice any pain. I bought these 8507's and the 8508's (both in black). When I received them I put one of each on and wore them for a few hours, changed feet and wore them for a while longer. These 8507's were more comfy in the toe box for me, although I loved the look of the others better! (Of course!) I think the design - with the holes - provide more stretch and give. I love the way the shoes look, they are super cool and the details are excellent. I like to run on a wood surface and I run 4-5 miles, and they are a little bit hard on my knees. Other shoes with air on it are more comfortable, so I decide to use them to workout and I love them. People compliment me at the gym.
