This is the best and most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. Due to breaking my right foot in 3 places several years ago, I must wear custom orthotics. This shoe accommodates the orthotic easily and comfortably, due to the depth and width of the toe box and instep. New Balance, already a wonderful company that provides shoes in widths, also has several shoe lasts that perform wonders when sized correctly to one's foot. This shoe boasts the New Balance roomy SL-2 shoe last. I highly recommend this shoe (or any of the New Balance shoes with the SL-2 last) for anyone using orthotics. And gee whiz, even without my orthotic, this shoe is roomy comfortable, yet incredibly supportive - and it just will not let you over-pronate. Fantastic shoe. I can do everything from casual to athletic in them. Buy these shoes! After trying them on I had to have them. Hoping the comfort would continue for more than a month which is the time frame my other shoes were lasting. I bought 2 pair and rotate them each day. Im not sure if its the board shoe or the arch support, all I now is that my knees, feet feel 100% better. I will continue to purchase these shoes!!!! 2008-05-15 05:04:22 New Balance M1010 Reviewer: from Cali Overall: Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: Moderate arch support Very comfortable - My running shoes got lost on the way to the Big Sur marathon - I traveled from Spain. So I ordered these when I arrived in Calif. - Zappos delivered them the next day and I did a couple of 6 milers and then the marathon in them. They were extremely comfortable. The look is a bit clunky but who cares about that! 2008-05-12 21:36:03 New Balance M1010 Reviewer: Larry B from Guntersville, Alabama Overall: Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: Excellent arch support New Balance M1010 - Great shoes and support... I am diabetic and these have helped me stand and walk correctly. Thanks and I will reorder the M1010... 2008-02-19 15:01:10 New Balance M1010 Reviewer: George H from Waxhaw, NC Overall: Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: Excellent arch support M1010 v.s. M1122 - I have previously owned 2 pairs of the New Balance M1122 in the 4E width. I have been very satisfied with the M1122. When I need to order my third pair, the M1122 was out of stock, so I ordered the M1010. The M1010 fits as well as the M1122 and has all the support of the M1122. I am very happy with the M1010 and would buy them again. I'm a Marine veteran of 24 years and do a lot of P.T. (Physical Training) and my knees and back don't hurt after the runs now. Go get you a pair or two. I will keep investing in them. I needed to find a severe motion-control shoe. I opted for a NB model as they typically run a bit wider than the standard Brooks or ASICS stability shoes. PROS: * It's heavy, but also heavy-duty. 350-plus miles and a lot left in them. * It uses special plastics that resist tread wear. * It does a great job controlling my pronation. CONS: * It's heavy. You certainly know when you've run 7+ miles. * I suspect that many folks who wear this shoe use prescription (read thick) orthotics. The footbed is surprisingly shallow even for non-ortho wearers. I'll give the shoe four stars for comfort if you don't wear orthos... f you do you'll probably rate it two-three stars. It's pretty tight and you'll get that annoying heel slippage. Having used various big mens shoes over the years, this is the best I have found since the big old heavy Brooks Beast of about ten years ago. Top | ||
