I would regularly go home with foot and leg pain from being on my feet standing still for 8 hours straight. These are great and comfortable, very comfortable, look good for a work shoe. Only catch is they don't grip very well at first. When I first put them on, I was slipping even on my driveway, but after a few hours of the sole breaking in, they were just like any other shoe. Recently I could not find what I wanted in Rockports, so I took a chance and ordered a pair of New Balance shoes for the first time ever. I'll admit I was very pessimistic, thinking I'd only be happy with Rockports, but much to my surprise I am really satisfied with my new shoes from New Balance! They look great, very comfortable, and actually fit a little better than the Rockports did. My size of 14 "EE" is sometimes difficult to find, but Zappos had them in stock, and they were delivered in two days! My foot doctor highly recommended these shoes and they do make a difference in terms of foot comfort. My feet feel pretty good after walking and also standing for extended periods which is something I had problems with before as I am a teacher and so stand long periods of time in a classroom. They are generally comfortable but, in hot weather, they aggravate ingrown toenails, on my big toes. I wish they came in size ‘E’ that may eliminate the problem. They retain a bad odor from frequent use, but cedar shoe trees removes 99% of it. I am looking for a replacement that will give me more room but I don't want a clunky-looking shoe like the NB901, which is very comfortable but doesn't look good in white when you want to look sporty in shorts or summer slacks.
