Weighing in at 12 ounces, the shoes offer lightweight shock absorption and a full length Azorb Strobel running board. A rubber toe reinforcement protects against rocks. Rockstop sole guard against stones imbedding into the soles. The ankle collar wicks moisture away to keep your feet dry. A great lacing system keeps the shoe snug around the foot. He has "difficult to fit" feet and these sneakers come with a removable insert so he can easily insert his custom made inserts (orthotics). This shoe is definitely sized differently than previous NB/Dunham shoes I have owned. My typical NB size is 14 4E. Even after a return and sizing up to a 15 4E, it was not wide enough. I hope this size issue is only with this model. This is the first NB sneaks I have purchased in about three years, so I will try another model and keep my fingers crossed. I found that these babies were just like the ones I used to dream about puttin' on and running in. I run treadmill/outdoor and these do both perfect. They are sleek, lightweight, and good lookin' to boot. I haven’t given them any real trail work, but I love them. Props to the off road team at NB! My favorite shoes were 870 NB (not made anymore) and these are just like ‘em! The extra rock protection reduces responsiveness and makes them feel clunky despite their lightness, but folks who dislike the lack of protection and stability in other trail shoes might embrace these. Good for long, slow training runs over the rough stuff, but probably too cumbersome if you plan on wearing them for pavement or the dirt paths in the city park.
