I have normal arches and these shoes have great arch support as well. I plan on doing a lot of hiking, boating and any other activity that will get my feet wet and I'm so glad that new balance finally made a shoe to accommodate my needs. I only wished they had more colors to offer. I bought the black/ orange ones and the picture(s) described on this site are accurate. I love the lacing system too. If you don't care for it, you can cut them off and put your own on, that's up to you. These were the perfect solution. They are incredibly comfortable, great looking (I got the black w/gold trim), and will undoubtedly last a long time. Also, I'd just like to say that I ordered these shoes after work on a Wednesday night and had them on my front door the very next day. Unbelievable Zappos, you guys are amazing! I have been wearing them a couple days a week for three weeks now. They fit right out of the box. The look of the shoes is nice and consistent with what you see on the web site – my pair is mainly black with orange trim. The shoes arrived in two days at no additional cost to me, which was a bonus. The shoe looks great online but the actual product is mediocre at best. I purchased a double wide (EE) size but was thoroughly disappointed that the shoe was not true to size. I purchased the shoes three weeks ago and I still have them in my shoe widening device. I thought I wouldn't have a problem ordering online since I've worn New Balance EE for many years but I was wrong. I bought these for my husband for our honeymoon to Costa Rica these shoes really took the cake.
