Look:I bought these shorts to run in (I'm 5'4", 115lbs and I run 15-20 miles a week), but they didn't work out for that. They ride up too much for my taste and just were not comfortable. However, I have since worn them to Bikram yoga (hot yoga) and they've been great for that. They'd be fine to wear to a gym as well. Look:Beware of sizing if you're not a small... Ordered these plus other gym shorts... on the plus side, they seemed like they would be comfy to run in. However, the 4" inseam was not 4" in a size L, more like 3" (yes, I broke out the ruler to measure it) - would have been like running in my undies! Sent them back. Look:Comfortable and look great - These are low cut with a wide band, so they don't show above workout shorts and are very comfortable. The flat band doesn't cut into hips. I like them so much, I bought three! Top
