When I put the shoe on, however, the heel felt so foreign to my foot, and upon walking a few minutes, the awkward feeling was only exaggerated further. I'm sure this is something I can get used to, but until then, 4/5 on the comfort. Other than that, the back of the shoe is really unfriendly to shoe tongues; it can get tricky putting them on. The Asic's Ultimate 81 is a great shoe. Plenty of support for a low top running shoe. The sole is very thick with enough give. These shoes feel very well made! I ordered these in black and am pretty sure I'm going to send them back. They are very cute - better looking in person than in the picture. However, they are terribly uncomfortable! I agree with a previous reviewer in that the heel is closer to 4 inches - definitely not 2 1/2. If you're looking for style - these fit the bill. I live in MN and these are definitely not a solid winter shoe. These are my first Tigers, so that might be the reason it was a surprise. I'm not saying I'm drudging through snow banks, but anyone in a winter climate knows that we don't always get to choose our walking conditions. I'll probably rock these shoes until the first snow fall and revive them in the spring. For a lightweight sneaker of its kind, the comfort and support are substantial, especially compared to similar types of shoes. They are extremely lightweight and flexible, and almost feel like a ninja-shoe/slipper/sneaker hybrid. They look great too, as they're very stylish and well-designed, without being flashy. I narrowed it down to three and I went to see if they were at the local stores in case they had something cheaper, etc- turns out they did have the same shoe except not in the same color I wanted, around the same price as well. As for the shoe itself, it’s an excellent, comfortable shoe and lightweight not to mention gorgeous. But this review is not even about the shoe, it’s about the excellent customer service at Zappos! The fastest shipping I've ever had and it was free; I have paid around 30 dollars for next day shipping from other companies and it didn't even come as quick. The operator was friendly and courteous and all responses are prompt. I ordered the wrong size and realized it only after it was shipped and I contacted them and they sent my size immediately, and unlike other companies, they don't wait until you have the wrong pair, send it back, and then send you your size. I am a solid size 7 in women's shoes and found that the men's size 6 (supposedly women's size 7.5) fit PERFECTLY. These shoes do not breathe very well. The first 2-3 days they wore through my socks and messed up my ankle area. I probably had to walk 10 miles in them to break them in. (I walk 2 miles/day most days.) Nonetheless, I love the look and now that I've broken them in and purchased some Odor Eaters. I'm good to go. My fiance always has to put in arch support inserts, so I think it has enough for some, not enough for others. The one gripe that I have with Onitsuka Tigers is that the color choices are sometimes hit-or-miss. This obviously depends on the person, too, but out of all their color choices, there will be sometimes one that I like.
