I'm a bigger runner at 225lbs. I am a neutral to underpronator according to the local gait analyst. First of all- the look of the boot, which is sleek and professional enough for work, yet fun enough for a night out. I especially love that this boot is not as high on the calf as the usual boot, which definitely, in combination with the platform, make my legs look longer and me look much taller (I'm 5'2). Second, these boots are extremely comfortable, right out of the box. I got my usual 6 1/2, and found they fit perfectly. I wore them out the night they were delivered, and walked for ages with no discomfort! The fact that they were delivered within 24 hours of me placing my order was the icing on the cake. I have tried every maximum cushioner out there. I started out running with the Nimbus series a few years ago left to try other brands and have come back to the Nimbus. I did get the funky flashy looking citrus yellow Zappos exclusives and my goodness these things are bright. I didn't intentionally pick a shoe to draw attention, I just like yellow and as always if you think these look good in the pictures, they look outrageously nice (bright) in person. As this was my first pair of Asics (and I have been walking 40 years) I have started to notice how many others at the gym and track wear Asics, and while it was not intentional, my pair does in my opinion look brighter and better than any other pair I have seen. Other Asics wearers can't help but notice these when I am passing them. Enough vanity, so how do they feel? Cushy. And strong. They feel like they should last a long time, and while they did start out feeling tuff I am learning what others have mentioned, they start to settle in and get more comfortable over time and with use. I think that's the way it is with almost any shoes, but it's of importance to note since we are talking about a high end running shoe. These work extremely well with the Asics 2100 Series socks. Size 14 fits my size 14 feet perfectly. I am happy with them and they are one of three pairs I have been choosing most often lately, every time at the track. Not wanting to wear out the 9's, I bought the 10's expecting them to be as comfortable. Immediately I felt that my big toe was rubbing against the front. I bought another pair (same size) to see if there was any difference. If anything, it was a litte worse. I stuffed a few socks into the first pair to try and stretch them out a bit and it seemed to partly work. I have worn them a few times (racquetball only) and either the sneaker (or my perception) seems to be adjusting. So, I am not really sure if the sneaker is starting to stretch out or I am just getting used to it. Everyone has told me that these sneakers need some time, but that was not my experience with the 9's. Still crossing my fingers, but think they will work out. I usually wear a 6.5 size for shoes. Though the 6.5 W shoe fit without socks, I had a lot of room, in the heel, and would need to purchase inserts to keep my foot from slipping in and out of the shoe. What I did like was that I could wear thick socks with the 6.5 Wide which is good for the regional climate that I live in. Nevertheless, I returned both shoes because I eventually decided that I wanted a higher heel height, but similar style. I have trouble with running shoes not supporting the front part of my feet, but these ones are noticeably better than even other Asics I've had. They fit well, perform great, and help my feet, shins, and knees stay in working condition so I can keep running. I've had Asics for about three years and even when I try other brands I end up returning them and buying Asics.
