I went to Egypt and it stood up to the sharp sand. it\'s very light and easy to pack. I needed to use an arch support, but it worked well for my narrow heels. For me it was important to have a practical sneaker I could wear from deep woods to indoors and yet still be stylish. They were light and always comfortable! The only thing is the front part began to peel after repetitive water exposure but it isn\'t very noticeable unless really looking at it. 2009-08-14 10:32:49 Ryka Lightweight Outdoor Lace-Up Reviewer: Anonymous from San Jose, CA Overall: Shoe Size: Felt a half size smaller than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: Moderate arch support Great looking shoe. Immediately feels broken in. Very comfortable. However, I would not call this a running shoe. Great casual shoe, great shoe to wear to the gym or walking. Not enough arch support or cushion for running. Had to order half size up. 2009-07-04 11:56:43 Ryka Lightweight Outdoor Lace-Up Reviewer: Anonymous from Northford, CT Overall: Very nice looking shoe, fairly comfortable, but not the usual cushioning and arch support of the Ryka shoes I am used to. I would recommend for light walking or at the gym, but not for high impact. These shoes are very light weight, with a lot of support and cushion. I love them! I usually wear an 8 or 8 1/2, and bought these in 8 1/2, so I thought they would be ok. I waited a while before walking in them and realized that they were unwearable. 2009-04-21 10:15:39 Ryka Lightweight Outdoor Lace-Up Reviewer: Anonymous from Sacramento, CA Overall: Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: Moderate arch support Very comfortable for many uses... This shoe is very lightweight and comfortable. It does provide the arch support as advertised but it does also "pinch" a little at the top of the laces. I bought to use as a walking shoe and it certainly did the job in Lake Tahoe but now love it for the gym! 2009-04-09 19:05:16 Ryka Lightweight Outdoor Lace-Up Reviewer: Meels from SF Bay Area, CA Overall: Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: No arch support IMO not a great shoe... too bad... So, some weird problems with this shoe -- first, I've been sent two pairs now and each one has sticky glue all over the laces. This is manufacturing, not Zappos, obviously. And the first pair came with right size 8 and left size 7 -- also straight from the factory. Anyway, once I got two same sizes, I tried them on, willing to look past the sticky laces (only one shoe had sticky laces the second time), but they have NO ARCH SUPPORT WHATSOEVER. I really don't know what the other reviewers are referring to, exactly, but I think of arch support as a bump, in the shoe, under your arch. This shoe only has that minimally -- more than ballet flats, but less than every other pair of shoes I own (including heels -- seriously, I just checked). Re: sizing, I am a regular 7 1/2 with long toes (so my foot is also sort of narrow), and I ordered an 8, which was good for length. The ball of my foot felt strangely like it had too much room. So it could be true to size; my toes wouldn't fit if it was. 2009-03-19 10:43:18 Ryka Lightweight Outdoor Lace-Up Reviewer: Anonymous from Los Angeles Overall: Shoe Size: Felt a half size smaller than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: Moderate arch support Good looking, light weight shoe - Feather light. Good look. Runs a little short in length; they're wearable, but I will order 1/2 size larger next time. From the first time I put them on, they were very comfortable. They are like outdoor slippers :-) I think they are a great run around shoe. They are extremely light. Given this, I do not think they have the sturdiness for intense exercise. I do not think they make a good running shoe or long distance walking shoe. Given that--I would buy another pair just for my every day sneaks :-))) 2009-02-13 06:48:19 Ryka Lightweight Outdoor Lace-Up Reviewer: Anonymous from Long Island, NY Overall: Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: Moderate arch support Perfect for the Gym - I recently joined the gym and needed a decent pair of sneakers. I don't usually wear sneakers, I'm more of a flats and flip flop kinda girl. So I came across the all black ones and decided on them. They are cute, and comfortable. The only thing I can complain about it is one sneaker had a little dent/defect but I didn't want to wait for a new pair, its not that noticeable and I got over it. 2009-02-12 09:38:19 Ryka Lightweight Outdoor Lace-Up Reviewer: Anonymous from Santa Barbara, CA Overall: Shoe Size: Felt a half size smaller than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: Excellent arch support Mom loved them - I purchased these for me- but they were not true to size. Before I could even get them ready to return them- mom tried them on and was very happy with them. She loves how light they are. 2009-01-10 05:40:26 Ryka Lightweight Outdoor Lace-Up Reviewer: Amanda from Portage, IN Overall: Shoe Size: Felt a half size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: Moderate arch support Ryka Review - I bought these shoes because I work in a hospital and needed something that would be good for long periods of standing and walking. I walk about 8-9 miles a day in the hospital. I bought the blue/grey color and I love the way they look & they also have very good traction. They are extremely lightweight and overall felt good on my feet, but they didn't have the arch support I was hoping. I normally wear the Ryka Countrywalker, but they didn't have it in stock so I purchased this shoe. When I went from the Countrywalker to this lightweight lace up, my feet hurt for the first few days because of the arch support & standing for long periods of time will do it to you. Since I've broken them in, they are great and I've always stood by Ryka. Great shoes! 2009-01-06 18:02:45 Ryka Lightweight Outdoor Lace-Up Reviewer: Katie from Modesto, CA Overall: Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt wider than marked Shoe Arch: Excellent arch support Buy this shoe people! Don't let the 'running' part of the description fool you. I have a very bad back. This shoe has little 'things' on the bottom of the shoe which protrude out of the sides a little bit, and oh boy, do they provide balance. In addition they have excellent traction which also gives you excellent control and confidence even if you are not a runner. They are very nice looking and although I was concerned about so much mesh on the sides in the winter, with socks, they are fine. I love these shoes. I bought two pairs, one in brown and one in black. I wear a wide (D) width but with these I bought a 'B' and they are fine. I just loosened the laces. I highly recommend these. They are very cute shoes. At first, I used them for walking mainly but not so much anymore. I always get a blister on the area behind my right ankle from the back of the shoe rubbing against it. I do notice a thicker padding on the right side more so than the left. The shoes fit me just right and are not too tight. The thicker padding on the back of the right shoe could be causing the blisters. Otherwise it is comfortable elsewhere. Top | ||
