I over pronate severely and have knee issues and these keep me really stable. I highly recommend them. 2009-09-25 15:25:45 New Balance WR850 Reviewer: Carol P from Evanston, Il Overall: These are fantastic! I have wide flat feet. I walk 5 or so miles a day, and with these on, it feels like I am walking on clouds. I also have lower back pain. With some shoes, my back is aching after my walks. With these shoes, no knee pain, no back pain. Just a nice, comfy walk. 2009-09-15 11:03:34 New Balance WR850 Reviewer: Anonymous from Louisville KY Overall: Just bought these shoes. They hurt really bad the first 2 weeks I wore them. I had blisters like crazy all around my heels. I purchased new ortho-type inserts and a special heel pad and now they fit better. I power walk 4-5 miles a day. I expected a better fit and less abuse on my feet. 2009-09-09 11:17:34 New Balance WR850 Reviewer: Rebecca from Oakland, CA Overall: Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: Excellent arch support Extremely comfortable, mildly dorky. I'm a beginning runner and decided to invest in a great pair of stability trainers. Bought these at a local shoe store and was amazed at how much support I felt in my extremely overpronated arches. These are super comfortable. No breaking-in period required. As a global rule, I find bright white sneakers rather dorky, but that's just me being a shoe snob. For running purposes, all I care about it comfort and support. 2009-09-01 12:25:40 New Balance WR850 Reviewer: KarenH from Fort Wayne, Indiana Overall: I love the New Balance WR850. I am training to walk in a half-marathon soon and my toes were feeling pretty scrunched. I read the Zappos.com reviews on this shoe & decided it was the one for me. 2009-08-06 16:33:39 New Balance WR850 Reviewer: Anonymous from California Overall: This shoe is a real disappointment. The arch support is inadequate and the N-lock lacing system is painful. Because the N-lock lacings have no give or elasticity, they painfully dig into your foot. This is especially true for anyone with bunions or any other sensitive foot issues. Don't be misled by the shoe's wide platform--this shoe isn't a good shoe for anyone with bunions, it's much too constricting. The heel also is on the wide side, which causes heel slippage. That's especially a problem if you have to leave the N-lacings loose to avoid their painfully digging into you. I'm sorry that New Balance didn't do a better job designing this shoe... 2009-06-23 09:56:10 New Balance WR850 Reviewer: Anonymous from Long Beach, CA Overall: Very comfortable, interesting laces that dont loosen up while Im walking. I have wide feet and normally wear Birkenstocks all the time, and these were perfect for my feet. 2009-06-19 15:40:20 New Balance WR850 Reviewer: Sylvia S Overall: I cant live without running and good shoes are extremely important. New Balance changed their 768 model to 769, the change was enough to cause blisters on my toes when I ran. I was disappointed and struggled finding another to fit my wide feet. The 850 model has been my life saver. I loved them from the start. Comfortable, provides good support and stability, and best of all no blisters. Top | ||
