If it helps other customers, here's what I found: My 843s were a tick snug in length for me, but I had to go up a whole size in the 845s to get shoes that were only a little bit longer than the size smaller 843. Long story short (literally), the 845s run small. Otherwise, a good shoe. Hard to find a narrow walker in black. For some reason, I liked the shape of the toebox on the old style better, but the lightweight, cushiony ride is still great. Zappos was, as always, fantastic. Lightning fast shipping during the trial and error process. Either my feet are growing or New Balance is making their shoes shorter and shorter. I already wear 11N and 11.5N is almost never available. I really hate admitting I'll need a 12?! Why don't they just make them longer, but size them smaller the way women's clothing companies do? Oh well, I am returning them. Asics makes a cute 11.5 Narrow I want to try. Look:These are the best work shoes I have bought in the last several years. I normally put orthotics in all my shoes or my feet kill me. Look:A word to the wise. I ordered the NB 845 because my left foot has plantar fasciitis and I've had two surgeries on my right foot for Morton's neuroma. I am a teacher who needs a comfortable shoe for standing and walking. Based on the reviews about size, I ordered my normal size 7 and the slightly larger size 7 1/2, both in the Medium width. I removed the SL-2 insoles and inserted my Spenco RX orthotic arch supports. Even with thick socks, the larger size 7 1/2M is way too long for my feet. Fortunately the size 7M fits perfectly: My heels are cradled securely and my toes are happy. The 845s are very comfortable. I don't know why so many reviewers are recommending that we buy a 1/2 size larger. Maybe that recommendation mostly applies to women with wider feet. I like the cute, funky style of the NB 845 and am thinking about buying another pair before NB changes the style and the fit. Look:This shoe confused me. It was certainly comfortable, like a bedroom slipper, and that's how much support it had. None. No arch support. No structure to the shoe, leather is so soft. I guess that is why so many people like it, but the inner side (medial side of shoe, if you will), is almost puffy; made my feet look swollen. Combined with no arch support, my whole foot rolled in. I thought at first I was accidentally sent the wrong shoe; surely this couldn't be the expensive shoe that got such awesome reviews. I was flabbergasted by its lack of...anything. For half that price, I might have kept it just to walk around the house in. And yes, I have orthotics and this is my review with the orthotics in. Oh, well. I am happy it is a good shoe for so many people. Look:New Balance\'s grid of last types was very helpful in finding this boxy toe I was looking for. I have cut off the elastic bands holding the tongue in place because they made the shoes feel tight over the instep, and this has made them even better. Look:If most sneakers either squeeze your toes or slip in the heel, you should definitely consider these. New Balance makes these and their WW926 model on the same last--wide toe, narrow heel, high instep--which perfectly describes my foot. I\'ve been wearing 926\'s for about four years, and recently bought a pair of these. They\'re both very comfortable and perfectly suited to my foot. These may be slightly lighter than the 926\'s, but the difference is minor. A lot of women with "wide" feet actually have a wide forefoot and a narrow heel. If that\'s you, try these. They (and the NB WW926) are the only sneakers I\'ve found in years of searching that fit right. Look:I use to wear the 844s and they were great, but the 845s are better. There is more toe room and my orthotics fit better also. If you do wear orthotics, this shoe should work for you. Look:It is hard to find a shoe that claims to be narrow and is narrow. These are great; not only are they narrow, but they give you good toe room. The best thing about dealing with Zappos are the customer service people. They are so courteous and helpful. Look:Fabulous, comfortable shoe. I have high arches, wear orthotics, and have 4 Morton's Neuromas, 2 on each foot. It's very difficult to find comfortable good looking athletic shoes. These do the job! They have a wide toe box, yet somehow don't look as clunky as some of the other New Balance shoes with a wide toe box. I'd been wearing the 926's. Though very comfortable, well, my friends called them my "nurse Nancy" shoes. I got the white/blue and they look just like normal athletic shoes. Look:Love these shoes! I love the fact that New Balance has so many options for fitting a shoe. It makes it so much better to buy a shoe. I have a wide toe box area, but narrow heel, and they have a style for that. These aren't the cutest shoe in the world, but when I'm out walking I don't really care. Look:I bought a pair of these shoes in 6 1/2 2E after reading the reviews. I also wear foot orthotics, but loved the shoes even before I put the orthotics into the shoes. I did not order a 1/2 size larger, but will consider it in the future. Look:First I got an 8 1/2,this is a half size larger than I usually wear. It was too short. I called and talked to one of the very nice reps and she gave me the length percentages for the next two sizes up. I so dreaded sending the shoes back, again, I opted for the 9.5. However, the nine probably would have fitted me better. The 9.5 is okay with a thicker sock. The shoe really does have an excellent shock-poof heel. Very comfortable.I still must put arch supports in, however. Also, the AA is still a bit wide for my foot. But there are no AAA's available. Again, I need the thicker sock. All shoes of this ilk does look a little ugly to me, but this shoe is not too bad.I have the white with the blue trim. Look:Gorgeous handbag! One thing the pictures don't show is that there are some side pockets on this handbag that are very handy for quick find items like cell phones. These pockets are between the inner large pocket and the outside of the bag. One is big enough for a water bottle! Also not obvious in this picture is that the material is very soft. I love it (and love the looks), but it does make the handbag "slouch". If you want a more stiff material that sits upright, this is not the right bag for you. Look:I took the advice offered by previous reviewers and bought a half size larger than I usually wear. I also have custom orthodics for plantar fasciitis, so the half size larger was perfect. I started wearing the shoes regularly, and my foot felt better. Look:I have been buying this sneaker and its various re-designs/upgrades since 2003. Since I walk vigorously 5-6 miles a day, I go through 3-4 pairs a year. They wear well, always comfortable and have a wide toe box. The latter is especially a must for someone with a wide foot like me. I've gone to the local New Balance store and have tried and bought other models. None has the comfort and light weight of this sneaker. I never feel like I have to "break-in" a new pair. They are always perfect. I have to check the wear on the sole to see when I'm due for a new pair. I think New Balance just tweaks this sneaker every couple years so they can increase the price. Look:Why'd They Change the Fit? I loved my perfectly fitting NB 843s and tried to replace them with these. Ordering up a 1/2 size didn't matter - they just aren't shaped like my foot. They're too wide in the heal, and too flat in the instep. I'd been told that fit never varied in this brand. That simply isn't true. The proportions have changed completely.
