Look:I only wear Rykas for my athletic shoes and usually the Engage, which is higher cut on the ankle. I decided to try this model as it looked more supportive and it is. It is not as "squishy", but not too heavy. It seems to have less mesh and more leather which I really like. Just like all Rykas it is comfortable right out of the box. It is an excellent choice for weight training at the gym as well as for cardio machines like elliptical or even recumbent bike. I always go up one half size in Rykas. Look:I recently purchase Ryka Cross Trainers from Zappos.com and am very pleased with their service. I have been wearing Ryka for over 15 years and have never found gym shoes that compare. They hug your feet, give great support and protect your leg muscles. My only complaint, I cannot find a retail store that carries Ryka in Florida. Zappos.com was great. Look:I love these shoes. I recently received my second pair and love them just as much as the first, which I've had for 11 months! I walk 3 miles a day, 365 days a year, so you do the math. These shoes last! They are comfortable right out of the box and don't feel like they're putting the big squeeze on your toes like so many shoes do. I've tried other brands (Skechers, K Swiss) but none of them compare to Ryka for comfort if you're serious about fitness and not just looking cute. (Not to say these aren't cute; they are!) I hope Zappos will continue to carry this particular style because they are awesome and I'll continue to buy them for years to come! Look:I love these shoes! They were super comfortable from the very first time I put them on. There was no break-in period at all. I also appreciate that they don't have loud colors and patterns; they are very simple and don't draw attention to themselves. I have "issues" with my feet and Rykas are the only shoes I've found that work for me. Zappos.com was incredible. Great customer service and super fast delivery. Look:Once my feet adapted to new shoes, they were very comfortable. With a lot of sneakers, I need to wear two pairs of socks, these only one pair. They fit snugly around my feet. Look: I usually love Ryka shoes and use them for cross-training. I do strength training at least twice a week that includes some cardio. I have found these shoes to be my least favorites of all the Ryka's I have owned. They pinch my foot at the crease when I do any kind of lunge or whenever I flex my foot. It especially bothers my right foot at an area just below the right "little toe". Wearing them for a month has not helped unfortunately. Not what I have been accustomed to from Ryka in the past. I've never failed to have been very happy with Ryka cross trainers, but that is now past. This is their basic cross trainer model - they are a bit 'balloon' looking - the comfort is fine, but not exceptional. Not as stable as my last pair from four years ago. So I may check with New Balance for my next pair, as I have experienced excellent fit, quality and style for my trail shoes that I just purchased this last fall. The fit on these was true to size. I tried 2 other brands before this shoe, I was greatly disappointed, only wearing 1st pair couple days, I still alternate 2nd brand with the Rykas to be washed, but they don't support like Rykas. Highly recommend the arch and heal support. I ordered a 1/2 size larger due to swelling and uninjured foot was perfect, little snug on healing foot, but will improve.
